Psychotherapy

East Riding of Yorkshire & Online

THERAPY

Maybe you feel...
...like you're moving through life in a heavy fog.
...like what happened long ago still hurts.
...like you're living in a state of alert, waiting for something to go wrong.
...a sense of watching life from a distance.
...pain of being wounded in places where you hoped to feel safe.
...a sense of not being fully seen for who you really are.
...a lingering longing for connection that doesn’t seem to ease.

This list isn’t exhaustive. Some people come to therapy with a clear sense of what they want to work on, while others may find it harder to put into words – they just know something needs to change. That’s perfectly okay. If you’re unsure where to begin, we’ll take it one step at a time, at a pace that feels comfortable for you.

Starting therapy can feel challenging

It takes tremendous courage to open up about the things that are troubling you and holding you back. Some people tell themselves their problems don't count, others have learnt to hide their feelings to get by, and some worry about being judged if they speak honestly and vulnerably.
That’s okay.

In therapy, you have a space to explore these experiences safely, at your own pace. I will be alongside you as an active, understanding presence, helping you make sense of what has been difficult and consider what might help you move forward.

Therapy offers the opportunity to

  • Feel heard

  • Experience a supportive relationship where every part of you is welcome

  • Make sense of painful or confusing experiences and begin to heal from them

  • Explore patterns in thoughts, feelings, and relationships that may be holding you back

  • Develop a kinder, more compassionate relationship with yourself

  • Discover who you are beyond expectations placed on you by others

  • Feel more confident and empowered to make choices about your life and how you want to live it

About Me

About Me

My approach

My approach to therapy is rooted in a relational-developmental framework, which emphasises the significant role that relationships play in shaping how we feel about ourselves and engage with the world around us.

I’m interested in how your relationships have shaped the way you understand your life. You may have learnt certain ways of being that leave you feeling stuck, or as though something isn’t quite right. A relational-developmental approach offers a way to explore the patterns that may be holding you back. At the same time, it helps uncover those patterns that can support your growth. This process allows you to move forward with greater ease, awareness, and choice.

I believe that change is made possible through a supportive and trusting therapeutic relationship. Just as we evolve in our early relationships, we can change and grow with the help of current ones. My own experience has shown me how secure, supportive relationships can be transformative and healing, and I bring this awareness into my practice. I aim to create a space where you can feel heard and known in all aspects of yourself.

Equity, Diversity, and Respect for Difference

Creating a safe and supportive space for people from all walks of life is fundamental to my practice and my personal philosophy. I am committed to respecting and honouring each individual’s unique identity, experiences, and needs, all while working from a trauma-informed approach.

Training and Qualifications

I have recently completed an advanced four-year postgraduate training programme in Relational Integrative Psychotherapy and am working towards accreditation. My training and membership are with the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP), the leading organisation for psychotherapists in the UK. I adhere to their code of ethics and maintain high professional standards through ongoing development.

I hold full professional liability insurance and attend regular clinical supervision to ensure that I am equipped to provide ethical and meaningful support to my clients.
